Mid-term reviews via ZOOM, mission accomplished!

On Monday 27 April, students from LARCH7031: Extreme Territories studio, presented their work on 'Territorial Processes' remotely via ZOOM. Warm congratulations to all the offshore and onshore students for the excellent work, dedication and motivation, despite the current COVID-19 crisis!

In this assignment, students conducted a 'Dynamic territorial analysis' for mapping and evaluating the geomorphological processes of City of Onkaparinga. This included a critical appraisal of the ecological, economic and social issues through a comprehensive cartographic mapping of the territory using GIS and remote sensing tools such as Point cloud analysis/modelling, terrain analysis, and computer simulations.

Based on previous analysis, students presented a 'Territorial Structure Plan’ with high-level strategic goals that primarily addressed extreme environmental challenges. Students produced large masterplans that demonstrates their understanding of the landscape characteristics (bio-physical conditions), landscape values (evaluation of vulnerabilities and social interactions) and development interests (planned activities, regulatory facts).

More information will be available at the end of semester in the 'Courses > Design studios' section.
